Life is like a raging river, it drags you along with it whether you want it or not. All you can do is try to stay afloat.

~Drowning~
Dragged underneath it all
The currents of life unresting
The higher we rise
The harder we fall
The sea of emotions a constant churning
The grip tightens on the turmoil
At the threshold of the limit
Only one thought lingers, dying
The faster the sinking
The harder the struggle
Abandoning all hope
Giving up without thinking
The fear unbearable
The pain indescribable
Feeling lost, despair and hopelessness
We pray.
P.S. The poem's not really good. Haven't wrote one for so long. Lost touch I guess. ^.^

Interesting topic to write a poem on...I like the mention of sea and currents + struggles~but how come no mention of wanting to breathe? No offence...just that the first thing that would come to mind when someone drowns (esp someone who doesn't want to die..) is the need to breathe.
ReplyDeleteBECAUSE maybe sometimes one has decided to give up at a point of struggle.

ReplyDeleteHmm, that's a very good point. Thanks for highlighting that. I was basing the poem on certain aspects of life rather than dying or drwoning in general.

Also true. =)
By the way, do you two know each other or are you the same person? Lol...
